MVC ATTENDEES MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED OR PROVIDE PROOF OF NEGATIVE TEST

By John Tramontana, MS, CAE | Chief Executive Officer | 10.15.21

We’re only seven weeks away from MVC 2021 in Novi. It’s been nearly two years since we’ve all been together and we’re looking forward to welcoming you back.

As you know, the MVC is a large event, bringing veterinarians together from around the state and the region to learn and network. The safety of our attendees is our top priority. Because of that, ALL participants at MVC will be required to show proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID test within 48 hours of the event.

What does proof of vaccination mean? Attendees must show their vaccination card before they will be permitted to check in. Attendees must be fully vaccinated to fulfil the requirement. That means you must be at least two weeks past receiving your second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or two weeks past one dose of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. If you do not meet this requirement, proof of a negative viral test (NAAT or antigen test) issued from your healthcare provider or a public health official within 48 hours of the beginning of the event will be required.

In addition, we will follow local guidelines on masking. If Oakland County is in the “High” or Substantial” risk categories based on CDC guidelines, masks will be required at all times at MVC, except when actively eating or drinking. Regardless of the transmission level in Oakland County at the time, masks will be required in the Exhibit Hall and during the Friday General Session Luncheon when not actively eating and drinking.

Anyone who fails to comply with these guidelines will not be admitted to MVC. These policies will be monitored and strictly enforced. We understand the importance of face-to-face learning and networking among colleagues and friends. We are working to keep all participants as safe as possible. Thank you for your understanding. Please feel free to email us at mvma@michvma.org or call us at 517-347-4710 with any questions. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you in Novi!
