Volunteers are crucial to MVMA’s success as your association. From member-driven committees to task forces to event planning, MVMA offers a wide variety of opportunities to fit your schedule. We have a number of opportunities available now. Are any of them right for you?
Several of our committees are looking to fill vacancies, including the Legislative Advisory Committee (4), Public Health Committee (1), Animal Welfare Committee (1), and Equine Practice Committee (1). You can learn more about these committees by clicking here. If you’d like to apply, please fill out the volunteer application found here.
MICHIGAN VETERINARY CONFERENCE
If you’re interested in helping with speakers and planning for the Michigan Veterinary Conference, we have a few opportunities that may be of interest. First, we’re looking to fill the Licensed Veterinary Technician Committee for the 2021 MVC. Do you have LVTs in your practice who would be interested in planning programming? We need four LVTs to help plan two days of content for attendees. If interested, please fill out the volunteer application found here.
The 2022 Michigan Veterinary Conference will be here before you know it. Taking place in Grand Rapids in fall of 2022, this event will be entirely run by MVMA. We’re looking for a few volunteers to be a part of the 2022 planning committee that will look at all aspects of the conference and suggest changes to enhance the member experience. Please apply if interested.
VOLUNTEER PROGRAM TASK FORCE
MVMA is revamping its volunteer program to create more equitable and inclusive opportunities for all members. This Task Force will examine Committee structure and standard operating procedures, will brainstorm new ways for members to get involved, and will work with MVMA staff to implement these changes. This Task Force will begin work this spring and finish up in fall with the goal of launching the new program in 2022. If you’re interested, please apply here.
