Dr. Thompson is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and is the only Board-Certified Specialist in Canine and Feline Practice in Northwest Ohio. He practiced in Northwood and Perrysburg before opening the West Suburban Animal Hospital in 2001.

His areas of professional interests are Orthopedics and minimally invasive surgery (Arthroscopy). Dr. Thompson has advanced training in complex fracture repair and corrective osteotomies (AO/ASIF), including bone plating and interlocking nail techniques. He is the only veterinarian performing the Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) and the Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) for cruciate injuries in dogs in Northwest Ohio and has successfully performed thousands of these procedures on a wide variety of patient sizes.
