Necropsies provide veterinarians and animal owners with insight into diseases and other conditions affecting an animal’s health before death. Veterinarians may recommend necropsies in cases where they want to understand why an animal didn’t respond to treatment as expected, or why there may have been discrepancies between diagnostic tests and how an animal presented in the exam room. For companion animal owners, necropsies can help provide closure. This session will focus on how and when necropsies for pets may be recommended, and include case examples.
