Tour of the former Traverse City State Hospital
Monday, June 23
7:30 - 9:30pm
(Optional - additional registration & fee required)
Join us for a 60-minute guided tour which highlights the history of one of the un-renovated buildings of the Village Campus - a unique insight into one of the dozens of historic buildings formerly known as the Traverse City State Hospital.
Our tour guide will highlight history, providing a glimpse of Dr. Munson's "Beautify is Therapy" theory on patient care, discuss the former uses of structures on the property and the purpose of the architecture & more.
Participants will depart Great Wolf Lodge by charter buss and meet the tour guide at Earthen Ales (a local Traverse City Brewery). From there, you'll begin the one-hour tour of the grounds and finish back at Earthen Ales.
*ALL tours of the Village Campus are ages 12 and over only. Per Village guidelines, for safety reasons, guests 11 and under are not permitted on tours.
