Membership Options

Regular Membership is available to any licensed Veterinarian or one who has graduated from an accredited college or School of Veterinary Medicine (or the equivalency). Regular Members are voting members of the MVMA.

Associate Membership is available to any qualified Veterinarian who is not actively pursing monetary gain from the profession of Veterinary Medicine in the state of Michigan (a retired or Out-of-State DVM). Associate Members are not eligible to vote or hold office. 

This member type is for practice managers, assistants, licensed veterinary technicians, receptionists and other non-DVM practice staff. At least one Veterinarian at your place of employment MUST BE A CURRENT MVMA Regular or Life member. 

This member type is available to any Veterinarian who graduated from a College or School of Veterinary Medicine during the previous twelve (12) months and supports the mission of MVMA. New Graduate Members are exempt from the payment of dues for a period of one year and are not eligible to vote or hold office. 

Upon renewal, this membership automatically transitions to the Recent Graduate member type. 

The Recent Graduate member type is available to those who graduated from a College or School of Veterinary Medicine more than 12 months ago but less than 48 months ago. 

This membership category is for Veterinarians currently working as residents of a specialty practice or an educational institution other than MSU.

This member type is available to any Veterinary student from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine (MSU CVM) This membership level is good for a maximum of 4 years or until date of graduation.

Organizational Membership is available to all organizations employing at least one (1) Veterinarian. This membership includes all employees of that organization, including Non-Veterinarians. Only Veterinarian members of the Organizational Membership shall be allowed to vote, hold office or attain Life Membership.
