HIGHLY PATHOGENIC AVIAN INFLUENZA DETECTED IN ALPENA CO. FLOCK

Following an investigation by MDARD, the Michigan State University VDL has detected the presence of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in a backyard flock from Alpena County. This is the first case of HPAI in Alpena County since the virus was first detected in Michigan in 2022.
